À la suite d’une résidence de 5 semaines à la Chapelle des Andrettes dans le cadre de la Biennale d’Aix en Provence, il y a un an, Charlotte a produit un ensemble de peintures, Ainsi, plus de 100 mètres de peintures sont venues napper, draper les murs de la Chapelle. Au cours de cette période de production & d’exposition, elle envisage comment donner une seconde vie à la peinture. Ainsi, Charlotte invite Mélissa à transformer, s’emparer de ses peintures. Au sein d’une résidence, à son tour de 5 semaines, dans une entreprise de métal, Mélissa déplace les formes, et brûle, découpe, pour développer une série d’objets: une lampe, un paravent.
Following a five-week residency at the Chapelle des Andrettes as part of the Aix-en-Provence Biennale, Charlotte produced a body of paintings. More than 100 metres of painted canvas came to cover and drape the walls of the chapel.
During this period of production and exhibition, she began to consider how the paintings could be given a second life. Charlotte therefore invited Mélissa to transform and reinterpret her work.
During a second five-week residency, this time within a metalworking company, Mélissa displaced and reconfigured the forms, burning and cutting the painted material to develop a series of objects: a lamp and a screen.
